mural painting at haven

i went to the salvation army near NUS last wednesday to paint (vandalise) their walls!

this was part of the pre-expedition project. a chance for us to bond with "kids" but the target is quite different. i believe we will be teaching kids at primary level when we are over in thailand. but at haven (commonly known), we were painting with 5 other "kids" from secondary school!

i was expecting them to be a little more mature and i had no choice but to use my naggy and reasoning skills to "talk" to them. i think i spent more than half the time talking to them, asking them why they REFUSED to paint, why the paint was DRIPPING all over the place, and coaxing them to paint. i was the nanny of the day.

as mentioned earlier, i used most of my energy speaking to them. the rest was spent standing and squatting repeatedly and it was damn tiring!!! the moment i reached home, i cannot even stretch! and the aching continued.. even until now. this is the punishment for not exercising for A LONG LONG TIME!

this was the "dripping" paint i was referring to earlier. we have to paint over them and make sure there is no more "bleeding" of any more animals!

please pardon me for my messy hair cuz my hands are full of paint! i'm so considerate to buy plastic gloves for everyone (as the batch earlier did not prepare for any gloves and their hands are covered with paint! YUCKS!) but all the kids were playing "soaking" their hands (with glove) and slippers with paint. -_-"

although it took up my whole free day and as a result i was diao-ed by my english tutor for not doing my essay cuz i had no strength left after reaching home (i reached home at 8+), i had a fulfilling day!

although all the kids said i am the FIERCEST, i still bought chocolate (kinder bueno somemore) for everyone, including my team mates! i think i can understand their plight better compared to my team mates. most of my team mates were shock at how loud, vocal, vulgar (haha) and attention-seeking they were. some of them even know yuki! can you imagine the amount of common topics i have with them. hahaha. my team mates were so shock and i think some of them is suspecting whether i was from a girls' home before, due to my LOUD nature. but whatever. hahahaha :D

below are the photos i took! though the paintings are not very well done (ok i must admit i destroyed some of it hahaha) but i am quite impressed!

okay, i am going to sleep now. i just spent 11 hours typing a 1000 word essay for my history assignment. i have yet to start on my report which i promised my group mates i will get it done by sunday night. and not forgetting, my econs tutorial which i have to present on monday!!!!

and the countless webcasts.

BUT I WILL SURVIVE! :)
