(a very long and image-heavy entry ahead)

happy boxing day everyoneeee!

i had a fantastic (albeit tiring) xmas celebration all thanks to my sister, my bro-in-law as well as the cheapos!

i set out my house at 9am, carrying tonnes of things in my backpack (yeah my jc mambo which many look down upon but has proved its worth yesterday) as well as a big recycle bag!

this is the list of things i brought to my sister's place

for the pumpkin soup

1.5kg pumpkin, cubed
1 litre of chicken stock, carton
2 onions and 2 garlic
1 small packet of HL milk

for the cakes

my 2 dough (about 1kg) of marshmellow
my mum's precious red food colouring
1kg flour
1 tray of eggs

miscellaneous

2 gifts (1 for kim and 1 for ranitha)
1 set of clothes to change
1 water bottle

and not forgetting these things i store permanently in my sister's kitchen for the cakes

i know i sound like i am going hiking on christmas, to the point that my sister was teasing me that 'christmas is supposed to be relaxing, why are you tiring yourself like that???"

oh, i forgot to add that i bought breakfast + coffee and tea for my sister and bro-in-law. now please visualise me, carrying the pumpkin + flour + marshmellow dough in my backpack and carrying the chicken stock and miscellaneous items in my recycle bag. now do i "look" lang bei?

i sure did, haha!

upon reaching my sister's place, i called my bro-in-law and her many many times (although i have the keys but it is basic coutesy mah) but no one answered me!!! so i open the door but to my horror they locked from insideeeee! *scream* but luckily my bro-in-law (kenneth) is not that deaf (my sister, joni, is like a dead log) so he came to my rescue. joni still promised me that she will wake up before 10am to welcome me. PUI. hahaha whatever.

so we started baking at around 11am, after enjoying our breakfast + the mickey mouse movie on channel 5. i am supposed to bake 3 cakes, because each cake i can cut into 4 smaller pieces but to my disappointment, the first batch failed. so with only 2 batches left, joni and i decided to cut the 2 batches into 9 each (that will be 18 in total) and salvage whatever can be salvage from the first batch so have a total of 22 pieces. i decided to make 2 little cakes for everyone but once again, i forgot i did not prepare enough marshmellow for the decoration and i started to panic when the clock strikes 2pm and i am not halfway done!

as my sister is meeting her friend 3pm at tampines, both of us had no idea if we can finish everything in time so joni ordered kenneth to help to knead the dough, hahahaa! and i was joking with them that 'if we open a confectionary, sure close down" with such inefficiency.

when i "managed" to prepare enough marshmellow for all the 22 pieces, i realised each container can only keep 1 cake properly. omg, i just spent alot of time doing redundant things. no proper planning. lol. and yeah, that explains why ur cake is smaller compared to the one i gave my jc girls and "not that pretty" cuz we ran short of time! but overall, i am still very happy with whatever i've made with the help of joni and kenneth!

ok, reaching eliza's house began my 2nd 'workout' for the day as i've to prepare pumpkin soup! everything was going well until eliza showed me her 'very chim and high tech' blender which is a stick!
